"Rosario", Studio5's entry to 2010 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) last December is now getting an international recognition despite its poor reception from local award giving bodies.
The Albert Martinez helmed movie made it to the list of nominees in the "Best Film" and "Best Director" categories of the upcoming 14th Shanghai Film Festival which will be held on June 11-19 2011.
Albert Martinez will be competing against 9 other Asian directors for the event’s biggest attraction – the Asia New Talent Award (ANTA).
Aside from Albert, another Filipino director - Sheron Dayoc - also made it to the list for his indie film "Halaw" (Ways of the Sea).
This year's Shanghai Film Festival will also be giving away the events biggest prize - “The Golden Goblet” - which is being contested by 1,519 films from 102 countries.
